The server performance has improved with minor tweaks to the physics engine, as well as the issue around character’s freezing during large packet data sends. The render performance on care package airplanes has also improved, along with client performance in the lobby. On top of all that, the PUBG Update also changed the timer that called out the end of the match, taking it from 5 minutes to 1 minute before the end of the match.
The update also fixed minor bugs in the game as well. Weapon icons at the bottom of the screen now correctly show after switching weapons and opening the inventory screen. The client no longer crashes when changing a character’s look. And it’s now possible to Freelook (with Alt) while jumping.
however, the PUBG patch is not the only announcement fans of the game are waiting for.
An Xbox One version of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS is expected to launch soon via Microsoft’s Xbox Preview Program. And later, at an as of now unannounced date, a PlayStation 4 version of PUBG is also expected to be released.
Console fans are hoping that PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS will be a part of the Xbox E3 briefing since previous years have seen Preview Program games take the stage as a part of big announcements.
Brendan Green stated in a May 4 Business Insider interview that PUBG would definitely be coming to consoles, but he did not specify a release schedule.
